Sean O’Connor is a British-born actor whose screen credits include Shortland Street (2011, 2021), 1480 Radio Pictures (2014), Desired (2015), and the comedy feature Crackheads (2013).
Originally from Northampton and raised in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Sean emigrated to New Zealand in 2004 after a successful career in the IT industry. With a lifelong love of performance—fueled by childhood talent shows and an instinct to entertain—he made the bold decision to pursue acting professionally in his 40s.
He trained at South Seas Film and Television School in Auckland, graduating in 2009 with a Diploma in On-Screen Acting. His first major feature role came in Desired (2015), where he played Keir Willett. The film went on to screen at the Marché du Film during the Cannes Film Festival.
Sean brings a grounded, natural screen presence and a strong work ethic to every production. He continues to work across film and television projects in New Zealand and beyond.
