As one of RBA’s emerging artists, Ryan Douglas has been fortunate to land several lead roles in semi-professional productions which has inspired him to pursue a professional career with RBA. These include: ‘John Williamson’ in ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’; ‘Anthony’ in Shakespeare’s ‘Antony & Cleopatra’; ‘John’ in Angus Rehu’s short film ‘Keepsake’; ‘Noah’, in Shardia Rose Keen’s short film ‘Appetite’; 'Nicholas', in Ethan Barrow's short film 'Coup de foudre (Love at First Sight)'; and 'Dylan', in Kieran Morris's short film 'Stasis'. Having built a solid foundation for professional development, he is now under the mentorship of another one of RBA’s actors – Joel Tobeck, who describes him as ‘An Actor with immense energy and presence; his total commitment and focus to his work is a joy to watch’.
Ryan is also a classically trained singer, in the genres of Musical Theatre, Crossover (Popera), and Jazz; an emerging voice artist with proficiency in Commercial, Character, and Accents; and a Martial Arts practitioner in Krav Maga. Based in Auckland, New Zealand, he is looking forward to breaking into the professional acting world.
