Lynn Waldegrave was bitten by the acting bug in her early 20s, when her mother wrote a part for her in a Christchurch amateur play. A chance meeting with a casting director led to her first TV role in the landmark comedy series A Week of It. Lynn went on to present the kids show How's That, then joined McPhail & Gadsby, doing songs then sketches. She won praise from news broadcaster Angela D'Audney for baring her breasts on a Nude News skit, and did a deadpan imitation of music host Karyn Hay. During her time in London that lasted some 20 years, Lynn continued her acting. Projects included the Cannes-winning short film Horseshoe. Since returning to New Zealand audiences have enjoyed her work in theatre including The Streaker (2016 The Court), A Shortcut to Happiness (2011 Fortune Theatre) and screen roles including Sandy Campbell, Shortland Street (2006) and Mrs Buck, Westside Season 2 (2015).
