For more than 35 years Delia Hannah has been working professionally, mostly in Australia but also New Zealand, Asia and the UK. She is best known for her portrayal of Grizabella in several productions of Cats throughout Australasia, along with lead roles in numerous other shows, such as Fantine in Les Miserables (10th Anniversary Production Australia New Zealand)), Ava Peron in Evita, Florence Vassey in Chess, Rose Vibert in Aspects of Love, Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, Miss Santiago in The Buddy Holly Story, The Baker’s Wife in In To The Woods (Auckland Theatre Company), Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia, and The Bird Lady in Mary Poppins (Disney Australia) to name just a few.
Personal Appearances include various concerts in venues ranging from small clubs and theatres to large stadiums (The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber).
She has appeared on TV shows of which she is best known for All Saints (Aus 1998) and Shortland Street (NZ 1992).
As well as receiving several nominations in Australia for the Green Room, Mo and Helpmann Awards, Delia was awarded two Mo Awards, for Aspects Of Love and Cats, also A Variety Club Award and a Sydney Critics Circle Award for ‘Best Actress In A Musical’, for her portrayal of Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers.
