As one of RBA Management’s emerging talents, George Hiku joins us with proficient musical theatre skills and experience under his belt.
Having started on the stage at the age of 10 as the lead singer for his group in the Tauranga Choir Festival, George has always wanted to pursue a career out of acting and singing. He has since trained at the Associated Studios in Australia and has received a Foundation Certificate in Music Theatre.
George’s most favoured role to date, was his performance as ‘Henry’ in ‘Next to Normal’ by The Court Theatre, as he was able to professionally directed by the critically acclaimed musical theatre performer ‘Hayden Tee’. His other stage roles include ‘Galileo’ in ‘We Will Rock You’ by Tauranga Musical Theatre, ‘Ensemble’ in ‘Shrek: The Musical (Saudi Arabia)’ by Showcase Entertainment and ‘Swing’ in ‘Madagascar: The Musical (NZ/AU Tour)’ by GMG Productions. He was also the most recent runner-up in the search for a presenter on NZ’s longest running children’s show ‘What Now’.
Based in Tauranga, New Zealand, George is now looking to grow his experience and knowledge in all areas of film, television and stage with hopes of acting abroad one day. He also has a diverse set of skills, singing in the vocal range of Baritenor F2 – Eb5 (belt A5), dance knowledge in Hip Hop, Kapa Haka, Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz and knows how to play the Guitar, Bass and Ukulele.
