Crystal's passion for musical theatre started early. Growing up in Perth, she trained extensively in all styles of dance and performance, including competition ballroom. During high school, she had the honour of performing for the Queen in the CHOGM elite choir. In 2013, she was selected as a solo vocalist for Performing Arts Perspectives and was awarded the Lucy Durack Award at Storm the Stage. The following year, Crystal completed WAAPA's Certificate II in Music Theatre before successfully auditioning for the Bachelor degree.
While at WAAPA, Crystal had the pleasure of playing Piggy in Lord of the Flies (dir. Crispin Taylor), Nurse/Blair Daniels in Sunday in the Park with George (dir. Tyran Parke), Heavenly Friend in Carousel (dir. Jason Langley, chor. Cameron Mitchell), and Tour Guide in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (dir. Shaun Rennie, chor. Christabel Ellis). She also performed as part of the Dance Ensemble in In the Heights (dir. Crispin Taylor, chor. Jodie Bickle) and 42nd Street (dir. Jason Langley, chor. Lisa O'Dea).
Most recently, Crystal spent three years as the lead actor with Meerkat Productions, where she refined her puppetry skills while touring nationally.
