James Lowrey is a dynamic international actor of Samoan and Pacific Island heritage, equally at home on stage or in front of the camera. Standing at 189cm, he brings a commanding presence and grounded authenticity to every role he undertakes.

A graduate of Unitec’s Bachelor of Performing Arts (Stage and Screen) and the University of Auckland’s Bachelor of Film, TV & Media Studies, James furthered his training at the Stella Adler School of Acting in Los Angeles, honing his craft under John Jack Rodgers. His stage work includes seasons with Auckland Theatre Company, where he demonstrated range, commitment and versatility in a variety of productions.

On screen, James has played Agent Emmet Broad in the feature film Cash II (Xristos Productions), appeared as the Chef in Manuel Turizo’s music video Mamacita, and featured in the Brita commercial Thirsty Traveller: Glacial or Green. With his rich cultural heritage, strong physical presence and international training, James continues to build a career that is both diverse and compelling.
