Chantal Stowers’ passion for acting was ignited at the age of four while watching a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar in her tiny West Coast town of Karamea. Captivated by the performance, she spent hours reenacting the show in her backyard, determined to pursue acting.
Chantal’s emerging career includes appearances on Shortland Street, Kura Season 3, and Ahikaroa, as well as TVCs for Mr Rental, Silver Fern Farms, and NZ Seniors Bucketlist.
She finds deep satisfaction in performing pieces that resonate with audiences and being surrounded by fellow creatives. The opportunity to tell impactful stories and be part of a supportive community motivates her ongoing development.
Chantal aims to secure lead roles in feature films and series, both locally and internationally, to inspire younger generations, particularly Maori and Pacific Island youth. She envisions a future where her early dreams and cultural representation are realised.
In addition to acting, Chantal writes and performs spoken word poetry, creates and produces music under the stage name Chonny, and is preparing to release new singles. She is also interested in stunt and screen combat training and is working on a short film.
Chantal Stowers’ journey reflects a deep commitment to storytelling, artistic growth, and cultural representation.
