Inventive Australian jury-room thriller The Twelve is back on TVNZ+. The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer has a strong Kiwi contingent in the cast, including a special reunion with RBA’s Ian Mune, whose personal and professional connections with star Sam Neill go all the way back to 1977’s landmark production Sleeping Dogs.
Ian plays a retired cop in the new series, in which things get personal for Brett Colby (Sam Neill) after he is thrust into a murder trial to defend the husband of a life-long friend accused of a heinous murder. As the trial unravels a deeper mystery, a 1968 cold case murder of two teens is re-opened, and the twelve jurors sworn in for the trial find their own lives changed by the experience.
